How do I get to Isla Margarita?

By air, to Porlamar airport

Isla Margarita's airport is Porlamar (PMV). From abroad, Copa Airlines already sells a Panama City (PTY) to Porlamar (PMV) route on its website: according to its press release, it starts on 26 November 2026, with three flights a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays). Domestic flights from Maiquetía and other cities are operated by Venezuelan airlines whose schedules change often; TripVenezuela confirms the current options for your dates when you request a booking.

By ferry from Puerto La Cruz

By sea, Conferry announced the return of its Puerto La Cruz–Margarita ferry from 26 June 2026 with a provisional timetable: check its site for the current one.

Coming from another country

International flights land at Maiquetía (Caracas) and four other airports in the country: see how to get to Venezuela for the airlines that are back and the state of Maiquetía.

Check with your airline

GOV.UK advises staying in contact with your airline or tour operator for the latest flight information. If your package includes flights, the package page says so; if it does not, book them once TripVenezuela has confirmed your accommodation dates.
