Colonia Tovar is a mountain town in Aragua state. Venezuela's tourism ministry describes three roads in: from Caracas, through the La Yaguara interchange and the El Junquito road; from Los Teques, through the El Tambor interchange on the Panamericana, following the San Pedro and El Jarillo road; and from La Victoria, in the Aragua valleys, along a beautiful but winding and steep road. A German town

The town was founded on 8 April 1843 by immigrants from the Black Forest, from Kaiserstuhl in Baden, who brought their architecture and customs.
